In the beginning of 2004, my hair fell out completely. Not just the hair on my head, but literally the hair all over my body including my eye lashes.
I went to visit a dermatologist who said my body went into shock. He suggested that I try and live a stress-free life. My hair started growing back in the middle of 2005.
The dermatologist also suggested the gentle massage of the head every day, which I continue to do. I believe this has helped my hair to grow back.
In 2006, up to 50% of my hair had grown back where it had fallen out completely. I never had a weave but wore a wig during the period of 2004 to 2006.
When my hair started growing back, I decided that I wanted to keep it natural, but during this period I became a product junkie, buying all types of product, conditioners and shampoos and gels. I really had no clue about which product would be good for my hair.
I enjoyed my natural hair but was frustrated with what products to use to keep it moist and not too greasy. The interesting thing is that I still continued to use hair grease because it felt soft in my hair. My hair steadily grew but I was keen for it to grow even more and stronger.
I was introduced to SweetSableTM at the Afro Hair and Beauty show in 2009, and bought the book then. I was sceptical about how Elizabeth’s method would work better than the way we were brought up to know.
I read through the book several times, and signed up for the 3-month hair growth course with Elizabeth. My hair regime was I washed my hair fortnightly and did a deep condition once a month. I used products in my hair that just kept the hair moist.
I was keen to learn new methods about my hair. After meeting Elizabeth, she seemed to understand my hair type and what products would work and the products that would not work. She would even detail products that were suitable that you would never consider.
After examining my hair, Elizabeth informed me that my hair was in good shape but that I had patches of baldness around the middle and sides of the hair. She made some recommendations.
Again, I was sceptic only because this was all new and appeared alien. At the time of the consultation my hair was 11 inches on average. Within just 4 weeks of starting the 3-month hair growth course I had gained 0.55” of growth and the patches had started to fill out with hair. And today, there’s hardly any patches left on my hair and my average hair length now is 14 inches. So the method works, it really works - believe me!
Before, friends and family wouldn’t notice my hair, but now they are all amazed at the thickness and the length.
These days, when I have my hair out I get comments and people think my hair is curly permed or in a Jheri-curl, but I am happy to say it is all mine and all natural.
I never thought I could achieve the length of hair I have now. I now feel that my hair can grow even more and I look forward to continuing my new hair regime.
After my first consultation on the 3-month hair growth course I decided to stop using hair grease, or wear wigs. I suggest that those who are thinking of or want to add length to their hair must meet with Elizabeth. It is okay if you have doubts but I assure you those doubts will soon go when you see the results of your hair.
I also want to add, that I was once told that my hair could not grow to any decent length, I now know that that information was absolutely untrue and when you sign up to the 3 month programme, you will see what I mean.
Can I also just say there is no need to worry about the cost of this consultation as you will reap the rewards once you see the results of your hair.
Happy learning!
